Game 12 vs. Paris
Our second game in as many days led to the same result, but a much better effort by the Wildcats.
Our Sunday game was a 5PM start, again in Elmira. Our boys were looking to turn things around from a sluggish game on Saturday. The first period began with a lot of energy for both teams. Plenty of rushes up & down the rink. Then at the mid way point, Paris broke in on a breakaway and scored the opening goal. 1- 0 after one.
The game would be a physical one, with its share of penalties by both teams. Chances were there for the Wildcats, but 'Puck Luck' was not as Paris got their 2nd of the game on another break in. LL#1 would continue to work hard, and would be rewarded with 32 seconds left in the period. Mac B. would sneak one in to make the score 2-1.
More physical play would continue back & forth between the two teams, and the chances were there too. The Wildcats continued to keep the puck in the Paris end of the rink, pushing the play back in over and over. As time ticked down, and desperation took over, Mac was there at the net to push in his second of the game. 2-2 with 7.2 seconds left. That would be how it finished.
