Local League Program (Woolwich Minor Hockey)

PrintLocal League Program

Overview

Woolwich Minor Hockey Association participates in a Local League system for players wishing to develop their hockey skills, enjoy the game in a more relaxed atmosphere or as an alternative to the Rep program, for skilled players who do not have the time to commit to the Rep level of hockey.

WMHA Local League plays in the Woolwich Centre Wellington (WCW) Local League travel system. This newly formed interlock league differs from Grand River Local League which traveled to centres like Hespeler, Paris, Ayr, Plattsville, St.Clements and Wellesley (Twin Centres), St.George, Tavistock and Beverly.

Local League includes multiple teams in each of the following age groups: Novice, Atom, PeeWee, Bantam, and Midget.

Throughout the year there are tournaments for the local league teams to participate in. These include one - three day tournaments which can be local or farther afield.

This league also provides a great opportunity for adults considering coaching, training or managing a team. There are courses throughout the year provided by OMHA for support of the coaching and training positions, and some are now available completely online. Please, remember that your time as a volunteer makes these local league teams happen.
