A BARN BURNER AT THE PATCH & TIGHT ONE AT THE DOG POUND
Two games this week Saturday The Cats visited the Clover Patch and no one showed up to play. Thursday Traveled down the highway to hunt down some dogs at The Dog Pound. Where both teams showed up to play. Assistant Coach "Chadwick" Brubacher coming back from holidays gets all hot under the collar.

Hespeler 5 Woolwich 1
Saturday visiting the Clover Patch The Cats came out flat with no hustle from a week off hockey you could tell they were still in sleep mode. A few weak goals by the Shamrocks and going up 2-0 after one period. The same continued into the second The Cats with no roar the Shamrocks get 2 more goals going up 4-0. The Cats down and out Bonzey Waters tries to wake his team and busts into the Shamrocks goal takes a blistering shot a big save made but "Shantzy" had none of that and runs through the defense and grabs the big rebound slamming home the puck making it 4-1 after two periods. This lighting a little spark and I mean little, the Cats could not come back and another goal by Hespeler ends the game 5-1. Tough loss.

New Hamburg 2 Woolwich 2
Arriving at the Dog Pound Thursday night the Cats had the spark that they were missing last game. The boys come out blazing in the first with the play a majority in the Dogs end. The Cats battled hard to get their first goal but just was not happening. With no time on the clock an open winger in the Cats end takes a shot, the horn blows to end the period the puck goes in. Ref Hannigan forgot his hearing aids and allows the goal. The Cats Wild at this out come, come out in the second down a goal they fight hard to come back. At the 6 minute mark Cole "Digger" takes the puck into the Huskies end. Working the end and with a pass out front "Shantzy" breaks for the net finds a loose puck and puts it in the net with the game tied at one a piece after two periods. Start of the third the Mighty Cats were not letting down. Ten Minutes in the third "Soft Hands" Garrett works hard for the puck squirts it out to "The Menace" Radler who riffles it past the Huskies goal tender and putting the Cats up 2-1. Ref Hannigan starting to loose control of the game and having trouble keeping up with these 9 and 10 year old boys in his walker. A great stop by the "Wall" Brown a spear by the dogs and a pushing match out front Hannigan takes a dog and cat to the box for roughing. Duane "Chadwick" Brubacher does not like the call and gives it to Ref Hannigan. "What are you talking about that should be one guy in the box, you are really missing a good game here." Pulling out his glasses he adds "Refy you need to borrow these, hey look an arena, look fans, players, is that ice, ahh look a Blue Line." Hannigan gives "Chadwick" Brubacher two minute bench minor. Down a player the Cats battle short handed and with a second left in the penalty the Dogs throw the puck off "The Wall" and deflects off a Woolwich defender and trickles into the net making it 2-2 with three minutes left. The game ends another tie giving each team a point. A great game played by our Woolwich boys. Some Anger Management courses are in line for Coach "Chadwick" but he will be ok.
Coach Wildcat will tack that one up as a win.
