Our Major Novice 'A' Woolwich Wildcats competed in the International Silverstick Tournament in St. Clair Shores, Michigan from Jan. 24-26, 2014. They played great again earning 1st after round robin play with wins over Uxbridge 3-1, Lakeland (MI) 4-0 and Welland 3-2. The boys played most likely the longest game in recent history in the quarter-finals vs Burlington winning 4-3 in the 9th overtime periods and after 2 1/2 hours! A game they will never forget! Unbelievable!!!

Next up was New Hamburg in the Semi-finals, where their battle-weary legs were not enough to get the win, with a 4-0 loss to the eventual Silverstick winners.

Great job Boys, the coaches and parents are very proud of you!

The Woolwich Major Novice "A" team competed in the Brampton Regional Silverstick Tournament on December 27-30, 2013. The boys played awesome, winning the SILVER medal with a 4-0 loss in the finals to New Hamburg Huskies, but have been invited and are heading to St. Clair Shores Michigan to compete for the International Silverstick Championships on Jan 24-26, 2014. We are very proud of how our boys competed so hard and played as a team this past weekend. Many thanks to our Social Committee and Team Manager for organizing our team breakfast and activities for the long day on Friday, where the boys has a great weekend once again!

Looking forward to OMHA Playoffs and the International Silverstick Tournament. Great work BOYS!

I'd like to congratulate the Major Novice A team on another strong showing at our 2nd tournament this season, in the Guelph Power Play!

After winning all four round robin games, earning 1st overall going into the semi-finals, on Sunday morning, we had a hard fought game against the Stratford Cullitons.  After playing to a 2-2 tie in regulation play, the game remained tied after the 5 minute sudden victory overtime period.  We eventually lost in the shoot-out by a score of 1 goal to none. That was a tough one....

Hold your heads high boys, because we had a great weekend Wildcats and let's keep playing great going into our regular season play this coming weekend.

I would like to express my congratulations to all the boys who gave their best efforts during this season's tryouts. All the boys should be commended for giving it their best, as it was a difficult selection process.

On behalf of this year's coaching staff, we are looking forward to a great year and hope to teach the game of hockey and watch all the boys grow both on and off the ice together.

The hockey team is a part of everyone's extended family, so I would like to welcome everyone to our "Family" and look forward to getting to know all of you better this season.
