The Cats get wet and wild in Port Colborne
The Atom Ae travelled to Niagara Falls last weekend to play in the Golden Puck Tourny in Port Colborne. Staying at the Americana the boys played lots of mini sticks and soaked themselves in the waterpark Friday night. With a big feed on Chicken wings made up by Tim and Timmie ( yes the one from South Park), the boys were sound a sleep early.

Game one  Saturday morning vs North Middlesex a much bigger NM team came out a blazing scoring 3 gaols in the first. With another in the second Coach Wildcat made a hard decision and pulled Bigfoot explaining it was not his fault and needed to light a firecracker under the butts of his players. With another late in the second the Cats were down 5-0 going into the third. The NM team get another early in the third but the Cats stuck to it pressing. Soft Hands Garrett gets in the open, shoots on the NM goalie with a big rebound "Big Red" Mitch Hartman pounces on the puck like a Wildcat on a deer and slams the puck into the net ending the game 6-1 tough one.
Game Two Saturday afternoon vs Baltimore both teams came out fighting. A very even game played the Cats come out with an early lead half way through the first a goal scored by the Big Dog who jams in the rebound shot made by Garrett 1-0. Second the boys still grinding hard, a loose puck in the Cats end is picked up and slid by the Wall Brown 1-1. The third was fast paced and with seconds left in the game The Jr Wildcat gets out in the open on a breakaway  shoots the puck into the goalies chest ending the game a tie.
Game three early Sunday morning vs the Sailors from Port Colborne, favorites in the tournament who come in 2-0 against the Cats 0-1-1. Off the get go the puck dumped into the Cats zone with a perfect break out Bonzey Waters gives the puck to Big Dog Siopiolosz who in turn passes up the middle to Soft Hands Garrett who goes on a break and deeks the jock strap of the Sailors goalie looking like a fish out of water 1-0 Cats 47 seconds into the first. Answering back The Sailors bust through centre and the defense and in 7 seconds the game is tied at 1-1. Both teams battled hard waiting for one to make a mistake the score remains tied after two periods. The Cats needing a win to move on kept battling but with 2 mins left in the game the puck gets dumped onto The Sailors stick and a heat seeking missle of a shot beats Bigfoot's glove hand and settles in the mesh ending the game 2-1. Great tourny boys rough start but finished great hold your heads high.
