You are all growing into
fine men!!!
On Friday,
the team collected and donated 28 lbs of food for the
Orangeville Food Bank.
The boys played an excellent first game against the
Pickering Panthers and repeated their performance against King Rebellion to
start the tournament with 2 wins.
On Saturday, they looked a little exhausted, but were able to manage to get a tie against the energetic host team – Orangeville Flyers and then came with a stronger effort to tie the Guelph Gryphons, who would go on to become the tournament finalist.
The boys finished 2nd in round robin play to move onto the semi-finals against Caledon Hawks. Caledon came out strong and had multiple opportunities to score on the power play. The boys were able to successfully kill off a 4-minute and a 2-minute power play. Caledon did eventually score on a power play and never looked back. We were unable to penetrate the Caledon defense. Caledon went on to become the tournament champions.
After our semi-final game, the team had a BBQ. It was great for all the boys and families to hang out and get to know each other better.
Boys you should be very proud of your effort and all the fun & development you had this weekend. We’re looking forward to see you grow into fine young men and to a competitive and most importantly fun season!!!!
