Game 18 vs St. George
To finish off the regular season, LL3 made the road trip down to play the Generals on a Saturday afternoon. The Wildcats were looking to get 2 more points in the win column.
With a game time later in the day, our boys seemed to be charged up to give their best on the ice. And that they did, not hesitating to get on the puck. Lucas H. was playing his 3rd game in goal. The first minutes of the game had many chances for both teams. Then at the 6:42 mark, Riley D. got the 1st goal to break the 0-0 tie. The next face off saw our guys take the puck right back in again. Lucas S. passed the puck out of the corner, & Carson D. was right there to bang it in. The next 3 players out went right back to it, with Riley getting his second. To add one more, Declan found a lose puck in front for a 4-0 lead.
The momentum continued into the 2nd period. Riley & Tyson would each get a goal, but the Generals would also get one, breaking the shutout on Lucas. Special mention to be made of a great glove save that Lucas also made in the period.
Into the 3rd, the Wildcats sensed a big win coming. They continued to pursue the puck in the corners, taking control of the play. The player with the hot stick kept finding room, and Riley D. would score 3 more, giving him 6 goals in the game. Final score 9-1 for the Wildcats. A fun afternoon game where everyone contributed.
