Game 14 vs. Twin Centre #1
The Wildcats were up early on Saturday to get on the road to St. Clements. Our boys were looking to get back on the winning track to start off the New Year.
Before getting out on the ice, Coach Zehr encouraged our boys to 'work hard & not get pushed off the puck'. That game plan seemed to take hold as LL#3 got off to a great start. Lots of pressure on the puck would bring lots of chances. The 1st goal would come at 3:02 left in the period. A shot in by Lucus H., followed by a pass from Carson D. would give Riley D. good shot. 1-0 Woolwich.
The second period was full of many chances for both teams. The difference being today our goalie. Big saves made by Luke S. would keep us in front after two frames.
A 15 minute 3rd period would bring each team to the net many times, only to miss on some really close chances. With 2:53 left in the game, our boys would get caught on a long shift, letting the Stars get back in the game. A 1-1 tie, & the Wildcats would need to respond. It wouldn't take long. Picking up the puck in his own end, Tyson B. would take off down the ice score! A 2-1 lead would be defended by LL#3, getting a hard fought win.
