The Minor Peewees are GOLD MEDALISTS!

The Minor Peewees headed down to Lake Placid, New York to try to pull off their own Miracle on Ice and were successful!

The boys came out firing right off the bat on Thursday night and were able to win 2-0 against Braintree Wamps. The game was a physical affair but, I am proud of how the boys held their composure.

Friday morning the Minor Peewees faced the Reading Rockets this game the boys got into some penalty trouble, however when the boys needed to bare down they were able to pull off the 4-1 win.

Friday Evening was a Tri-County matchup against New Hamburg played on the Miracle Ice ice pad. The game was played in the arena where the Miracle on Ice happened. The boys were able to watch the movie before we headed to New York, so playing on that ice surface was extra special. The boys were able to defeat the local competition 3-0.

Saturday morning the boys faced the Aurora Tigers a Major Peewee team. The boys came out firing and got off to a 4-1 lead however some over confidence and a couple of injuries. The boys fell off the rails and ending up losing 11-5. That loss tough but it was the wakeup call the boys needed. After the loss on Saturday the boys still clinched First Place and got to play for Gold against the Reading Rockets.

With the wakeup call on Saturday morning the boys responded and were able to win Gold 5-2 over the Rockets. The coaching staff is so proud of the team. This team has faced adversity all year and having to face it in the tournament again only made the boys stronger. We are tough to beat when we choose to work together and positively respond to adversity.

This is a tournament the boys won't forget for awhile. The parents and kids on this team are fantastic and made the tournament that much better.
