Hello.
My name is Steve Esbaugh and I will be
the head coach for the upcoming season.
All the tryout dates are on the WMHA Atom AE website. The tryouts will include two exhibition games with Guelph so please watch the website to see which game your player is playing in.
Prior to arrival to the first tryout ice time players must be registered for hockey and must have purchased a "tryout pass" from WHMA. Tryout passes can be purchased online or via cheque at the tryout desk (no cash accepted at the door). Upon arrival to the first tryout ice time players must report to the sign in table to receive their assigned jersey, which will be returned at the end of each tryout.
Players are to be dressed and ready to go on the ice 10 minutes prior to each tryout ice time so coaches can give proper instructions to the players beforehand. Players will be evaluated on several areas including skating ability, edges, puck handling and awareness. They will also be evaluated on coachability and work ethic. Players who pay attention to instructions and bring a positive attitude and work ethic have a better chance at success.
Players moving forward with the tryouts and with the team will be updated on the Atom AE website under the tryout list. The page will be password protected.
