Welcome To The Minor Peewee A Tryouts, News, Minor PeeWee A, 2016-2017, Rep (Woolwich Minor Hockey)

We would like to welcome all players trying out for the Minor Peewee team. The coaches for the 2016-17 season are:

Coaching Philosophy & Objectives:

• FUN - hockey is about looking forward to heading to the arena and spending time with your team. Win or loss we will always aim to have every player leave the rink with a smile.

• DEVELOPMENT - every practice we will aim to improve on every player’s skills and abilities. Systems and breakouts will be avoided, as we believe if players skill levels improve those aspects will improve as well.

Tryouts:

• Players will be run through various skill based drills. This will be done to gauge not only the players abilities but their work ethic and determination. We will take the players we believe will put the effort in throughout the season to work hard and improve their abilities.

• Players must make the first two tryouts to be considered for the team. Any conflicts must be brought forward to the coaching staff before the first ice time.

• Cuts will be made at three separate times throughout the tryouts. First cuts will be posted online THURSDAY MAY 5TH @ 10PM. Second cuts will be made online MONDAY MAY 9TH @ 6PM. Final cuts will be made after the game in person WEDNESDAY MAY 11TH. This timeline is dependent on the amount of players trying out and amendments will be made if necessary. Players will be notified if cuts will not be made as previously noted. Online cuts will be made by NUMBER AND JERSEY COLOUR ONLY. A password will be provided at the first tryouts to access the Tryout Results Page.

Team Rules & Expectations:

• Respect teammates, opponents, coaches, officials and the arenas that we play in.

• Team dress code will apply for all games, including exhibition games. Dress shirt and tie, no running shoes or hats.

• No swearing or bullying.

• Practices -  there will be dryland before every practice, starting 55 minutes before the scheduled ice time.

• Games – please arrive an hour before the ice time.
