Competitive Tier Starts September 28!
Competitive Tier hockey starts September 28.  Competitive Tier hockey is geared towards players who played representative hockey (A or AE) during the 2019-2020 season. The first 2 ice times will be evaluations for coaches and WMHA executives to confirm numbers and roster sizes at each age. These are not tryouts and no fees or additional registration is required to attend.

With the goal of placing everyone at the appropriate level some eligibility rules have been established to limit the number of kids on the ice.  Here are the eligibility rules for Competitive Evaluations:

U9 - Major Novice
Open to all players born in 2012 wishing to play competitive hockey.  To accommodate the larger group ice times are assigned alphabetically by last name.

U10 - Minor Atom through to U16 -  Minor Midget
"A" evaluation is open to players who played at the A level in the 2019-2020 season OR players who played at the AE level but were rostered to A as an Affiliate Player (AP).

"AE" evaluation is open to players who played at the AE level in the 2019-2020 season OR players who played at the local league level but were rostered to AE as an Affiliate Player (AP).

U18 - Junior Kings/Major Midget
"A" evaluation is open to all 2003 and 2004 players that played at the A or AE level in the 2019-2020 season. To accommodate the larger group ice times have been assigned alphabetically by last name.

U18 MD - Midget MD
"MD" evaluation is open to all 2003, 2004 and 2005 players that played at the A, AE or MD level (or were an affiliate player (AP) to one of those teams) in the 2019-2020 season.  Players who previously played A but wish to play MD are not required to attend the A evaluation and may go directly to the MD evaluation.

Please note:
Any player who played A or AE in the 2019-2020 season may elect to play in the Recreational Tier if they so choose.  These players are asked not to attend Competitive Evaluations and go directly to the Recreational Evaluations (please see website for dates).

Any player who played at a higher level (AA, AAA) in another association for the 2019-2020 season and has elected to return to WMHA (must be a resident) will be considered an A player for evaluation purposes may attend A evaluations.
