Announcement: New Elmira Jr. Sugar Kings (Major Midgets)
Submitted By Leanne Rollins on Tuesday, April 14, 2015
Woolwich Minor Hockey and the Elmira Sugar Kings are pleased to announce a three year trial partnership to transform our Major Midget A team to become the the Elmira Jr. Sugar Kings. The goal of the program is to potentially provide graduating WMHA players with a locally viable option for playing hockey at the next level.

Commencing in the 2015-2016 season, this partnership will provide many opportunities. The Elmira Sugar Kings involvement with our program will improve coaching resources, leverage partnership & assist in the recruitment of coaches. Integrating with the Kings will give Midget age players more exposure and opportunity to practice, AP and eventually play for the Sugar Kings.

Special Thanks to the Dan Snyder Foundation

This initiative is possible due to the support of the Dan Snyder Foundation. Dan had opportunities to play outside Woolwich, but he chose to stay in WMHA and recognized the opportunity to practice and receive call-ups to the Sugar Kings. This is the same path we hope to provide for Midget Age players today.
