NHLPA DAN SNYDER MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIP FOUNDATION
The NHLPA Dan Snyder Memorial Scholarship is now accepting applications for the 2024 scholarships. As in past years there have been recipient from each of the following three categories: “Elmira Sugar Kings”, “Woolwich Minor Hockey” and “Woolwich Community at Large”.

On Oct. 5, 2003, we lost an exceptional son, brother, friend and role model to a tragic car accident. Dan Snyder was a hard worker, a fighter, and lived to fulfil his dream of playing in the National Hockey League. He was a spark in so many lives and the catalyst that got things going on and off the ice. While an undeniable tragedy, Dan’s passing has led to many positive legacies over the years since his death. Since 2004, with the generous support of the NHL Players Association, and from proceeds of an on-line auction of jerseys, the NHLPA Dan Snyder Memorial Student Award Fund was established, supporting the post-secondary education of over 60 student athletes. The fund has provided over $80,000 to support these individuals.

The deadline to submit an application for the 2025 NHLPA Dan Snyder Memorial Student Award is, July 4, 2025. Applications will be open again in 2026.
