Hockey Coach Education Program Overview:
MLSE Foundation and Scotiabank created the Hockey Coach Education Program to change the game and make hockey a more inclusive, diverse, and accessible sport for players and coaches alike. The Hockey Coach Education program aims to provide equitable opportunities for Black, Indigenous and other racialized youth aged 16-29 across Ontario to obtain hockey coaching certifications and connect them to coaching positions in their community.
Important Program Details:
- For Black, Indigenous, and other racialized youth aged 16-29, across Ontario
- Start date: May 30th, 2022
- Included: Online coaching modules, live virtual session run by the GTHL, live virtual MLSE LaunchPad Coaching Fundamentals session.
- Program will be incentivised – participants will receive a coach kit with a rink suit, duffle bag, coaching board, and whistle.
