The Wildcats had the entire St Jacobs arena on the edge of their seat as they traded goals with Tavistock through the second and third periods and finally sent them packing.
Tavistock would take a 2-0 lead late in the second period before Evan Reger woke up the Cats as he broke in alone and buried one short side on the Tavistock tender. Woolwich would tie and go ahead early in the third on goals by Jonah Schmidt and Zion Shadd before Tavistock would again tie things up on a broken play with a rebound off the back boards.
Back and forth action ensued and Kelan English turned away a few Titan attacks before Bryden Schaefer would dart in behind the Tavistock defence and catch the goalie off guard. Jonah Schmidt was there to collect the rebound and the arena erupted as the Cats took the lead with a minute and sixteen seconds remaining. The fans didn't get a chance to sit back down as Tavistock pulled their goalie and tried everything to even the score - but the Wildcats would grind it out and hang on for the victory.
Great game Wildcats! Lets bring that energy to New Hamburg tomorrow morning and keep this bus rolling!

This was an exciting game with back and forth action, and was definitely a total team effort. Despite the 3 goals showing on the scoreboard, Kelan English had his best game of the year stopping odd man rushes and a couple of breakaways at key times. throughout the game he was making key saves and getting whistles when we needed them. Great job Kelan - that shutout is just around the corner!!
