Last game of the regular Season
The Wildcats made their way down to St. George on a Wednesday night for the final game of the season. Although the team had some players missing, they came out with all they had to make the road trip worth while!
Much of the season has been challenging for LL1, with many hard fought losses. But tonight saw a lot of great things come out of our team. Puck pursuit was on everyone's mind, and it proved to be the way to go! Three minutes into the first period, Mills took control of the puck & stormed the net for the opening goal. It set the tone for the rest of the game. The hard work continued, leading to Adam B getting another goal. 2-0 to end the first.
The teamwork to get to the puck was great, and our goalie Kelan didn't have much work. Caught off guard a little, the Generals found their way in & scored a bouncy goal. 2-1 after 2 periods.
But the energy stayed on up for the Wildcats in the 3rd. Chasing the puck, they would cheer for their team mates after every shift. To put the icing on the cake, Jonah would score with 2 minutes left. A big 3-1 win for our team!
A happy bunch of players would storm out to celebrate the win with their goalie. It would be a great night for our hard working group of kids. A happy finish to the regular season, after many tough losses.
Its now on to the playoffs, the Woolwich Cup, & the Golden Puck tournaments. May good 'Puck Luck' be part of the new year for the LL1 Wildcats!
