Elmira Jr. Kings Capture the 2025 Hamilton Huskies Classic U18 AA/A Championship!
The Elmira Jr. Kings
had an incredible weekend at the Hamilton Huskies Classic, coming home as
tournament champions after a strong team performance from start to finish.
The Kings opened play
on Friday with a 4–4 tie against the London Knights–Green, followed by a 4–0
shutout win over the Newmarket Renegades.
On Saturday morning, Elmira faced the Soo Jr. Greyhounds in their final
round-robin matchup, battling to a 1–1 tie. The result placed the Kings as the
#3 seed on the A side and set up an elimination quarterfinal against the TNT
Tornadoes. The team came out flying and controlled the game from the drop of
the puck, earning a convincing 5–0 victory.
Sunday morning’s semifinal saw the Kings matched up against the host Hamilton
Huskies. In a tight, hard-fought contest, Elmira pulled through with a 3–2 win,
punching their ticket to the championship final.
The final game against the Sarnia Jr. Sting was a clean, defensive battle that
remained scoreless through three periods, sending it to overtime. The Jr. Kings
dominated the extra frame, and with just 10 seconds left, the captain buried
the tournament-winning goal, sealing the championship for Elmira.
The Jr. Kings wrapped up the weekend with a 4-0-2 record, outscoring opponents
18–7 across six games.
Next up, the team turns its attention to the Pelham Regional Silver Stick,
taking place November 20, 2025 weekend.
