Atom LL#1 Wildcats Unable to Break Beverly #1 Win Streak
Beverly #1 remains undefeated and the LL#1 Wildcats move to 3-2-1

The game was much closer than the score shows, but in the end the LL#1 Wildcats fell to the undefeated Beverly Bandits. The boys in green put up a great fight, and in particular showed some strong defensive zone play against a team who is clearly used to scoring a lot of goals.

The wildcats showed grit and determination and fought hard to win the loose pucks. Emmet Schell was a force to be reckoned with - taking a Bandit hard into the boards in the dying minutes of the game, and Austin Thompson showed the visitors that they weren't the only team in the league with player who has a booming slap shot to be feared. Austin also used that hard shot to clear the puck out of our zone and spring Jonah Schmidt on a breakaway where he tucked in our lone goal up on the top shelf behind a stunned Beverly goalkeeper.

The Cats will be on the road tomorrow morning against Hespler 3 where we are going to focus on winning races to the puck, and keeping pressure on for entire shifts. I know we are going to hit them with everything we've got. Go Wildcats!!

Scoring:
Goals: Jonah Schmidt
Assists: Austin Thompson

Golden Jersey:
Nicholas Shantz-Schlegel clearly came to play today. He soaked in the instructions the coaches gave on the bench and got to work lifting sticks, swiping pucks, and challenging the Beverly defensemen on the blue line. His positional play was really good today, and the Bandits were getting frustrated. Keep up the good work Nicholas!
